Ans: No. the exam isn’t more difficult than the ielts examination. It is a computer based exam and eliminates any possibility of human penchant during evaluation of the test. Also, there is no physical interview in this test which also helps candidates. Also, reading is generally easier than the IELTS exam as it does not require extensive reading excerpts.
Both the exams hold validity in the country but PTE should be the preferred test type as it is little easier to score in this examination as compared to IELTS.
In my opinion the best way tp prepare for the test is to first define your goal which means what score you wish to accomplish. Based on the same, begin with the preparation. Analyze your capability at each module and the skill sets required to crack through each module or sort of question.
In terms of content, the most scoring question type is Describe image as each correct response holds a maximum score of 5 and there are about 5 to 6 of such question types in the exam.
Pearson happens to be the only authentic source for the test as it is prepared by this body. There are number of paid question papers or books from Pearson which may help a test-taker.
